Explaining the Intel AMD Vulnerability Hack
Lots of buzz this week about a recent Intel vulnerability hack named CVE-2017-5689. At Yellowkeet, Inc we take security seriously, and wanted to share what we now know about this flaw.
From the linked article, “the vulnerability, labeled CVE-2017-5689, affects Intel remote management technologies, including Active Management Technology (AMT), Intel Standard Manageability (ISM), and Intel Small Business Technology (SBT) software, versions 6 through 11.6.”
How bad is it? Well if you consider attackers taking over your computer completely by having full (KVM) keyboard, video and mouse access then I would say it is bad, really bad!
We could write a full article on this flaw, but found the link below from The Hackers News to be the most informative.
