Computer Systems Specialist

Yellowkeet is looking for Computer Technicians who will put our clients first and provide responsible technical support both in-person and online. The best candidates for this entry-level position will learn new skills quickly, complete tasks both cooperatively and independently, work well under pressure and time constraints, communicate clearly with customers and employers, and use their analytical problem-solving skills to recommend actions for our clients’ system needs. An associate degree or two years of equivalent experience in supporting, installing, and maintaining  Windows and Mac OS systems is required.

Qualifications:

The desired candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, education and skills:

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Set up hardware, install and configure software and drivers
  • Maintain and repair technological equipment or peripheral devices
  • Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components
  • Manage security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection
  • Perform regular upgrades
  • Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
  • Arrange maintenance sessions to discover and mend inefficiencies
  • Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference
  • Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly

 

Job Requirements

  • Experience as computer technician or similar role
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+) will be an advantage

Education: AAS in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
